Install Apache Web Server with PHP 5 on Windows XP

Step by Step to Install Apache with PHP 5 enabled on Windows XP:
1. Download latest version of Apache 2.2.x.
To download Apache HTTP Server 2.2.x installer for Windows, go to Downloads. The downloaded file will have name apache_2.2.x-win32-x86-no_ssl.msi or similar.
2. Install Apache HTTP Server 2.2 on your Windows XP.
Run apache_2.2.x-win32-x86-no_ssl.msi to install Apache HTTP Server. Assuming that it is installed at root folder, so Apache installation path is: C:\Apache2.2\.
3. Test to see Apache Web Server works
Open your favorite browser, type http://localhost on the address bar. If the Apache installation is successfull, you will see It Works!.
4. Download latest version of PHP 5 from PHP 5 website.
To download PHP 5 installer for Windows, go to Downloads. The downloaded file will have name php-5.2.x-win32-installer.msi or similar.
5. Install PHP 5 on your Windows XP
Run php-5.2.x-win32-installer.msi to start installing PHP 5. Assuming that it is installed at root folder, so PHP installation path is: C:\PHP\.
6. Setup Apache Web Server to run with PHP 5
Depending on location where Apache has been installed, open C:\Apache2.2\conf\httpd.conf in Notepad or your favorite text editor. Go to the end of the file and add the following lines:
# PHP 5
LoadModule php5_module "C:/PHP/php5apache2_2.dll"
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
Save and close the file.
7. Test to see Apache PHP 5 enabled works
Open Notepad or your favorite editor and create empty file. Type the following php code:
Save this new file as phpinfo.php into C:\Apache2.2\htdocs\ folder.
On your browser, type http://localhost/phpinfo.php on the address bar. If the PHP installation is successful, you will see PHP Version 5.2.x and list of current PHP configuration.
